China overall
A very attractive country and anyone
who's been there will say, is not enough. It is a
colossal land, not only in size but also in the depth
of its history and the range of its natural, and sometimes
unnatural, wonders.
The infamous Army of Terracotta Warriors at Xi'an
is one of the most compelling testaments to China's
ancient and spiritual heritage. The Great Wall of
China, though not as long as it was once supposed
to be, is as stunning and mystifying as ever. Vast
expanses of desert, the snowy peaks of the Himalayas,
the mighty Yangtze River - China's geography is as
varied as its history. Under Communist rule since
World War II, China has, somewhat ironically, charged
to the fore of the modern world as it has taken on
the goals of economic growth through international
trade. The result is that cities as Beijing, Shanghai
and Hong Kong have skyscrapers which tower above the
horizon, but ancient spiritual practices are still
maintained reverently.
Chinas religions are Taoism and Buddhism.
Its total population is 1.3bn Don't think China has
only one language.
Its official main languages are Mandarin Chinese,
Jinyu Chinese, Hakka Chinese, Uyghur, Yi, Peripheral
Mongolian, Northern and Southern Zhuang
In 1995, Beijing was fully opened to foreign tourists.
Now, they can walk around the city's suburban areas
by bike or by their own cars. What's now about travelling
in China? What are the regions believed to look at?
In China we actually focus the development
of our group travelling program on Tibet, Yunnan and
Silk Road. |
