Retirement visa:
Applicant must be over 50
originally for 90 days to be applied before entering
(single entry) but possible to apply for multiple
entry for up to one year once in Thailand
Needed
Proof of financial status or pension.
Confirmation from your embassy that you wish to retire
in Thailand
proof of a sum of 800,000 baht $20000) in a Thai bank
or
income of not less than 65,000 baht ( $1600) per month
or
a combination of balance in the bank and a monthly
income.
Example: 400,000 Baht ($10000) in the bank and 32,500Baht
($800) coming in every month.
If the foreigner is ill, or has weak health and is
sensitive to colder climates or has resided in Thailand
for a long period, and is 50-59 years old, special
circumstances may be given. Health and stay have to
be proven.
Pensioners arrived before Oct 1998 with unbroken records
need only 200,000 baht ($5000) in a Thai Bank when
they apply for a retirement visa
The bank certification of deposit must show that the
money came from a foreign bank.
In the case of the bank statement, a letter of guarantee
from the bank (an orginal copy) is to be shown as
well
Health certificate is needed that applicant doesn't
have prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial
Regulation No. 14
A retiree is not allowed to work in Thailand
A passport valid no less than one year and a half

When completing the stay of 90 days in the Kingdom,
the foreigner shall report to the competent authority
